Colleagues All
Umpire Audley Bailey is dead. Information
received is that he passed away at about 10.30am on Monday September 1, 2011, at the Hargreaves Hospital in Manchester, Jamaica.
That he became ill, went into a coma and never recovered. It is indeed a sad moment. He was a friend and
colleague. He had served Jamaica in the capacity of an umpire and an Agriculturist with pride and distinction. He was,
up to the time of his death, an Auditor to WICUA, a position he had occupied for many yeas. He was one of Jamaica's
delegate to our convention, held recently. He ran for the position of Area1 Vice President but was unsuccessful in his bid.
Bailey was knowledgeable, capable, meticulous, trustworthy and principled. You could
call on him for advice and direction and he would be ready to assist.
The
umpires fraternity has lost another stalwart.
In offering my condolences
to the bereaved, it is my hope that his dear wife and children will find the strength to stay strong during these troubled
times.
I appeal to my colleagues where ever yo are, to show your last
respect to our departed brother.
May his soul find peaceful rest.
Regards
Cecil Fletcher

Dear Colleagues,
It was indeed
a significant shock to me to learn of the passing of umpire Audley Bailey. My mind immediately reflected to our recent Umpire's
Convention in St Lucia and the invaluable contribution and timely inputs made by him as a delegate and also to our social
evening at Karaoke where he showed the other side of him on the microphone singing away Bob Marley's songs. That's the
way I shall remember him. As a Jamaican delegate, Jamaica has lost an ambassador, cricket has lost a servant, WICUA
has lost a reasoned voice and to us as umpires we have lost a comrade, a gentleman and a friend.
I
would like to express my sincere sympathy and offer my prayers to his family, relatives, friends and the Umpiring fraternity
in Jamaica on behalf of my family, the Barbados Cricket Umpires Association and myself.
May
his soul rest in peace!

Greeting To All,
I want us to take some time
pause, and reflect of the happening of the past thirty days.
Over this
time we have lost two of our most beloved brethren, friends, associates and colleagues that have given much to us,
to their respective associations, the WICUA and the world. Each, in their special ways
have contributed much to the duties of umpiring and the sport at large.
We
can say that they will be surely miss, but there much more that we might be able to do in order to keep their memories alive.

Today,
we mourn the death of Delegate Audley Bailey and many have remenist about the void created by his lost.
Many have became reflective of the duties and hard work that he has put in in make his Association,
the Jamaica Cricket Umpires Association, a body that is as effective
as any of its kinds with the umpiring fraternity.
The WICUA too, is indebted to Mr. Bailey for his contributions to conventions'
spirited debates and the role he has played as it's auditor.
The Executive and members of the United States of America Umpires Assn. Inc, and
the all members of the Area 1 family extend their condolences to his family and share in their grief.
Lest you forget, we will stand by
them in their time of great needs, and provide much of the comfort they might need in this their time of grief.
We all share in you sorrow, but keep strong ever leaning on the shoulders of the Almighty.
May his soul rest in peace.
Respectfully Yours
Fitzroy I. Hayles
